Registration:

Why should I register with IOL Jobs?
IOL Jobs is about maximizing potential. Whether you are searching for a new career or just browsing the market, IOL Jobs equips you with full range of innovative tools to assist you in your search.
The site is designed to make this search process easier. As soon as you have registered you can create a profile which we automatically match to our database of available jobs. You can also use our state-of-the art search functionality.You can now manage your opportunities - communicate with potential recruiters and become short-listed by recruiters for every job that matches your unique skills. Your identity can be kept anonymous and you can still get head hunted.
IOL Jobs also provides you with career advice, interview preparation and industry news.

Does it cost me anything?
Jobseekers can register for free!

Can my password be anything?
Passwords can be 4-15 characters or digits, and should not contains any special characters.

Can I block a company?
You can do so by clicking on the link “blocked companies” given above the job matches or by clicking on the link provided in the “Preferred Goals” under the preferences tab of “My Profile”. This will prevent that employer from seeing your profile. Also, you will not receive any job matches for the jobs posted by that employer.

Login / My Account:

I have created my profile but not able to log in?
You need to check your username and password if you are not able to log in to your account. Please visit your email inbox and look for the welcome mail received from IOL Jobs.

I Haven’t received the email / I don’t remember my password
If you are not able to trace the welcome mail received from IOL Jobs and you don’t remember your password, click on the “Forgot Password” link below the log in box. It will prompt you to enter your email address. A new password will be sent to your email inbox.

What is My Account?
My Account section gives you access to the following:
My Profile – edit
My Matches - review and apply for the jobs
Messages - messages from potential employers

How do I access My Account?
Fill in your profile details and let our unique matching technology bring the most relevant job opportunities to you!
Create your account and receive matching jobs automatically.

How can I upload my CV and photograph?
To upload your CV and photograph, click on the CV tab in your profile. You can either “cut / paste” the text of your CV or you can upload a document. Please note that the only formats accepted are .doc, .pdf and .txt. We currently do not accept Word 2007 formats as many recruiters do not have this version. You can convert your Word 2007 CV into Word 2003 or just text.
You also have the option to upload more than one CV. If you upload more than one CV, you can select one of them as your default CV. To upload your photograph, click on browse to select the file from your system. Once you have selected the file, click on “upload photo” to upload your photo. (We recommend you upload a passport size snap.

Can the recruiter see my complete profile?
You can set your profile status under the Account Details by clicking on the “General” tab of “My Profile”. You have the following two options for your profile status:

You can keep your profile visible: In this case, all recruiters will be able to see your complete profile. You can keep your profile anonymous: In this case, your name, email, contact numbers, address, CV, photo and information about companies you have worked for, will be hidden from the recruiter. Recruiter will be able to see other details of your profile.

Once you apply for a job, your complete profile will be visible to the employer who posted that job.

At the time of registration your profile’s default status will be anonymous.

Jobs & Matches:

How do I apply to the jobs which I find in the search?
To apply for a job from the search result, you need to first log in and then click on the apply link given with the job posting. Clicking on this link will take you to the application form page. Fill in the application form and click on the button “submit application” to apply for that job.

How can I access the jobs which match my profile?
To view the jobs which match your profile, just log in to your account and click on “My Account” section. Clicking on the job will provide you with a brief description of the job posted and options like “Mark”, “Communicate”, “Notes”, “Apply” etc.

Mark:
allows you to mark the option as a favourite one
Communicate: allows you to respond to a communication from the employer
Note: You can also post notes related to the position

What are different kinds of matches?
There are three types of job matches: Blue Match: The system found your skills and preferences match to the job requirements IOL Jobs Match: This happens when a recruiter marks a candidate profile as an IOL Jobs Match Grey Match: You have applied to the position, but are un-matched by the employer.

Can I view the deleted jobs?
Yes, you can view deleted jobs by clicking on the link “View Deleted Jobs” provided right above the matches.

Do I need to register to apply for a job?
Yes, you need to register to be able to apply for a job on IOL Jobs

Can I apply for more than one job?
Yes, you can apply for as many jobs as you want.

Can I apply again for the same job posting?
No, if you have already applied to a job posting, you can not apply for the same again.

How do I advertise in Print?
The quickest way to place a print ad is to call the newspapers directly:

The cost of the ad will also be discussed with you by the newspaper's customer representative
